Merry and Bright- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop!  This week we are showing you things we have been making in MDS.  I have been playing around with multiple Christmas card layouts and I am going to show you one:

Here is one that would measure 4x9.  I liked this size because it let me get the entire house (with the lights) in the picture.  I added a simple hand drawn looking border and a greeting using some fun fonts and called it good.

Ok, lets see what Wendy has to share!

Dear Santa- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop!  This week we have a theme!  It is Winter and/or Christmas Memories or Traditions.  I have been thinking about making some sort of Santa Wish list for my daughter so we can keep track of the funny/random/cute things she asks for for Christmas, so this was the perfect excuse to finally make one!  After seeing a few super cut ones on pinterest, I went to work and here is what I came up with:

We will ask her the questions and fill them in until she can write.  I think this will be so fun to look back at when she gets older!  I plan on keeping them all together in a binder of some sort.

Now, lets head over to Wendy!

Wonderfall Project Life Page- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop!  This week we are showcasing Project Life by MDS.  I was a little nervous about this week, but once I sat down at the computer with MDS open, my page came together so quickly!  That is what Project Life is all about...quickly and cutely getting your pictures into an album!

Here is my two page spread:

I used a template, DSP (Wonderfall) and embellishments I already had and made them fit the PL theme.  I am happy with how quickly these two pages came together.

See, getting your pictures in an album can be painless!

Now let's see what Wendy has to share!

First Christmas Card of the Season!- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop! This week we are showing you things we have been working on in MDS.

It is beginning to be the time of year when you need to start thinking of Christmas cards, so I made up one postcard style card.  Here it is:

Pretty simple, but this is just one so far....I will make multiple and see what one gets the family vote when done!  I will have a blurb about our year on the back of it.

Now lets see what Wendy has to share!

Home and Party Decor MDS Style- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop!  This week we are showing you home decor and/or party decor.

I don't have a new project to show you but a few projects I have made in the past that fit our theme.

First is a "Welcome Back" banner I made for my sisters school to welcome back teachers to the new school year.

Next is a "First Year Picture Timeline" I made for my daughters first birthday.  This was fun to make and look back through the first year of her life.

Next is a banner I made using MDS to print out the DSP in the colors I wanted and then made a banner out of them for a cake topper.

Here is a flammable piece that I made using MDS.  I printed out the tree trunk and the typed Happy First Fathers Day part and then added my daughters hand prints for the leaves.

I think that gives you a few different ideas as what you can do with MDS.  Now lets see what Wendy has for us!

WCMD Flyer- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop!  This week we are showing you the different things we have been working on!

A group of demonstrators where I live have an annual World Card Making Day event and this year I made the flyer in MDS for us to post and hand out for it.  Here it is:

I used the Hooray for Parties kit to make the flyer.  I was inspired by a fly on saw on mydigitalstudio.net (now I don't know who it was!) that was a half page, but needed mine to be a full page so I changed it up just a bit to work.  I love how simple and quickly this came together!

Alright, now lets see what Wendy has been up to in MDS!

Hannah's First Year- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop!  This week we are showcasing print products that we have had printed or want to with the new printer.

I have been working on my daughters first year album for probably about 2 years page by page and I finally got it done and printed!  I was so happy when it showed up at my door and to be holding the hard copy of it in my hands!  So here are a few pictures of a hardcover 12" x 12" album printed using the new print company through Stampin' Up! (Please excuse the PINK table used to take pictures of the album on...)

Front cover of the album with a nice shiny finish

Colors are bright and true to Stampin' Up! colors

High quality paper, ink and printer make the embellishments look "real"
Pages printed all the way to the edge and book lays flat

Spine stitched together
Back cover of the album with a small bar code printed directly on the album, not a huge deal to me

I am very happy with the printed album I got!  I am sure in the years to come we will look at this album to remember Hannah when she was little and all the memories we have.

Ok, on to the next blog on the hop Wendy!

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop!  We are back and showcasing the Stampin' Up!'s weekly deals again!!  This week the Playful Polka Dots kit is on special for only $5.97!!  It is a super kit you can use for a variety of uses.

Here is my page:

I didn't use a lot of embellishments on my page as I wanted to keep it simple and clean.  And I wanted to showcase a page using this bright kit that is not so bright and flowery as the kit seems to be when you first see it.

Ok, to the next blog, the talented...Wendy!

I have been trying to get my daughters first year album done for a long time, but since SU! is offering discounted printing through their brand new print service, I want to bust out the last few pages I have to make in the album and get it printed!  So here is one of the pages I have been working on for it.

Here she is at eleven months!  I saw a layout on Pinterest like this one that I liked, so I CASED it!

Yummy Cookbook- MDS Blog Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop!  This is our second hop of the month and so we are showing you things we have been working on! Don't forget to stop by our Pinterest page with all of our projects pinned!

This is a project I made just before the end of May, when we could still order boardbooks through SU!  I still wanted to share the project with you, because I think it came out so cute!  Here it is:

It is a cook book for my daughter to use in her play kitchen!  She LOVES playing and cooking in her kitchen, so I thought she needed a cookbook!  I had the thought of making her one using a boardbook from SU! for quite some time, but never got around to doing it, until I remembered they were not going to be available for much longer.  So one day (about 2 days before the deadline to order a boardbook...eeeek) I decided to get after it and make one!  I made up recipes, gathered ingredients, took pictures and then made the cookbook in MDS.  It came together so quickly and turned out so cute!

I realize you are unable to get boardbooks, but you could so easily do this this a traditional album too!

Alright, lets see what Amber has been up to lately!

I was looking through Pinterest and found something cute and simple for fathers day, so I decided to CASE it and make it in MDS.  Here it is:

This could be a card front or it could be printed out and framed as well with a few embellishments.  This was a quick project, but I think very cute.

Ok, now lets hop on over to Amber's blog and see what she created for this week!

Printing Money- MDS Hop

Welcome to the MDS Blog Hop!  This is our second hop of May, so we are showing you projects we have been working on!  Don't forget to stop by our Pinterest page with all of our projects pinned!

My daughter recently got a play register and it came with coins and bills.  I knew the minute we bought it we would be needing more bills, because they were going to be stuffed in purses, pockets, crumpled up and hidden away anyplace she could put them.  And I was right!  A few days later, we only had a few bills left in the register drawer.  So I jumped on MDS and made my own bills for her!  Here they are:

Back

Front

I had fun designing the bills. :)  I made ones, fives and tens.

Now I am ready to be the "Mommy Bank" whenever she may need more bills!  It is awesome because I could make them the exact size she needs so they fit in her register perfectly!

Let's hop on over to Amber's blog to see what she has been up to lately!
